Toy Drive 2018: Brightening the Holidays

Christian Sharrow-Blaum • December 26, 2018

A lot of attention is often given to the business end of the holiday season, making easy to forget that gifts aren’t just orders, conversions, and data points: they’re a symbol of the love and kinship that makes this time of year so special. From grand gestures to tiny toys, a gift is a reminder that someone somewhere is thinking about you.

For most of us, the holidays are a carousel of plentiful eggnog, thoughtful gifts, and love from family and friends. Sadly, though, there are many for whom this isn’t the case. It’s easy to lose sight of the less fortunate when we’re so focused on our own lives. This is why LYONSCG employees come together every year to give back and spread cheer and joy to their communities.

Chicago

LYONSCG’s Chicago office holds an annual toy drive in support of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. These gifts go to the brave patients at the hospital, which provides best-in-class medical care for more than 174,000 kids each and every year. As a member of the hospital’s Circle of Corporate Champions, it’s truly a privilege for LYONSCG to contribute to such an amazing organization.

Dallas

Moving south, the LYONSCG Dallas office got in on the action with a toy drive of its own. This smaller LYONSCG office came up big as employees donated more than two dozen toys and almost 100 pairs of socks to the Network of Community Ministries’ “Toyland Express” program, which helps low-income families provide gifts for their children during the holiday season.

Whether its raising funds for brain cancer research or providing toys for tots, community stewardship is at the core of LYONSCG. We take joy in making our communities a better place, and there’s no better time to come together than the holidays. Happy holidays, and here’s to a joyous and healthy New Year!
