Chipping Away at Brain Cancer – 17th Rose Ella Burkhardt Memorial
Here at LYONSCG, we love our golf, especially when it’s for a good cause. Every August, we look forward to the annual Rose Ella Burkhardt Memorial Golf Outing, an event we hold very close to our hearts.
LYONSCG was again the Title Sponsor of the outing, which took place at Lakes of Taylor Golf Club in Taylor, MI last weekend and is now in its 17th year.
Ms. Burkhardt, the late grandmother of LYONSCG CEO and President Rich Lyons, was extremely dedicated to her community and to raising funds for brain cancer research. She died of this same disease in 1993.
Prior to her passing, she donated generously to the Cleveland Clinic to support their valuable research. In remembrance of her dedication and indomitable spirit, the Rose Ella Burkhardt Brain Tumor and Neuro-Oncology Center was founded at the Cleveland Clinic and is recognized today as a national leader in brain cancer diagnosis, treatment, and research.
From around the country,18 LYONSCG employees and their families participated in this year’s event, reflecting our commitment to serving important causes.
The event raised more than $60,000, and all proceeds went directly to the Rose Ella Burkhardt Brain Tumor and Neuro-Oncology Center at the Cleveland Clinic.
Thank you to all of those who participated in this great event, and we look forward to seeing you again next year!
