LYONSCG Helps Timex Transform its Digital Commerce Experience

With time of the essence, Timex turned to a trusted partner to help realize its commerce vision

Chicago, IL – March 27, 2017 – Lyons Consulting Group (LYONSCG), a leading digital agency and global commerce service provider, announced its engagement with Timex, the iconic American watch brand. Timex partnered with LYONSCG to help transform its digital commerce operations and online brand presence, launching the new in time for the 2016 holiday shopping season. LYONSCG provided eCommerce strategy, experience design, and platform implementation services for the new site, and continues to work with Timex to provide ongoing agency and support services.

Tracing back to 1854, Timex has been the iconic American watch brand for more than 150 years. Focused on quality, durability, and elegant design, Timex is known for making watches that can “take a lickin’ and keep on tickin’.” Timex watches have stood the test of time, with products just as stylish and innovative today as they were 150 years ago.

In early 2016, Timex was ready to take the next step in its digital revolution. Its previous eCommerce solution lacked stability and could not easily scale to support the brand’s strategic initiatives and meet evolving consumer expectations. Timex wanted a more stable and flexible commerce platform that would support continuous innovation; empower its business users to manage content and the brand experience; and a dynamic new site design that better aligned with its brand.

LYONSCG led a highly coordinated effort across many fronts to launch the new site under budget and ahead of schedule, with plenty of time before the holiday shopping season. The project included transitioning from a custom, in-house solution to an industry-leading cloud commerce platform; developing a multi-site architecture to facilitate international expansion; a complete site redesign; and several complex back-end integrations including order management, payment, tax, analytics, tag management, and marketing automation technologies.

The LYONSCG experience design team created a stunning new design that captures the timeless beauty of the Timex brand. The site features a fully immersive brand experience with rich imagery, sophisticated search, and integration with social media.
