Helping the Kids, 1,643 Steps at a Time

Step Up for Kids 2015

Ever taken the stairs instead of the elevator? What about up 80 flights? That’s exactly what some of our LYONSCG pride did a couple weeks ago, and all for a good cause.

Here at LYONSCG, we believe in giving back. We’ve participated in many charitable events over the years in order to benefit the communities in which we work and live.

One of our most fun (and challenging!) events is Step Up for Kids, a fundraiser for Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. The event, which took place this year on Sunday, January 25, involves a race to the top of the Aon Center in Chicago—all 1,643 steps of it! The Aon Center is daunting in its height–standing nearly a quarter mile in height along Chicago’s lakefront. It currently stands as the 7th tallest building the US, and among the top 30 in the world!

Three of our bravest employees–Sarah Griffis, Rob Grzyb, and James McDonald–were there to take on the challenge and represent the LYONSCG team. All finished with impressive times, and we raised more than $1,000 for the patients at Children’s Hospital; there’s still time to donate to our team too!

Thanks to all involved and to all who donated to such a great cause. We’re already looking forward to the event again next year!
