The body color of OLFA products was determined in 1967 by our founder Yoshio Okada. He decided on a soft yellow color, realizing a knife should be easily recognized in a toolbox and be associated with safe and familiar images.
A NEW STANDARD
The L-1 (OLFA’s best selling cutter) was designed by Okada, who determined the shape of the cutter after grabbing and holding hundreds upon hundreds stones along a river.
