Quality Information Data Mart

Challenge
A leading printer manufacturer customer struggled to track warranty and defect data for manufactured printers. Warranty and defect data was spread across multiple divisions with no single consolidated view of this information for management reporting purposes. The customer required a solution that improved current business decisions and allowed for future growth and scalability, but could also be quickly deployed within a six week time frame.

Solution
Using our proven 30|60|90 methodology, LyonsCG successfully completed the Quality Information System Data Mart. The project consisted of a functional staging area sourced from five different transactional systems. In addition, a star schema data mart was developed and serves as the single version of truth for business reporting.

Outcome
The customer viewed the deployed data mart as a strategic tool and used the warranty and defect data to support management decisions which, in turn, improved the quality of printers manufactured.
